GREEN MACHINE EQUIPMENT
Green Machine Equipment (GME) is a Buffalo, New York -based manufacturer of battery drive systems for construction and industrial applications.
The company manufactures lithium-ion powered drive systems that replace traditional diesel engines. These systems have significantly lower operating costs and zero emissions, enhanced power delivery to the unit, and offer a full shift run-time comparable to one tank of diesel fuel.
The history of the company dates back six years, when founder Jon M. Williams made a bet that he could build electric, emission-free construction equipment for the burgeoning Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus. Jon firmly believed he could develop a zero emission drive system that is every bit as powerful and reliable as those that are petroleum based. To achieve this goal, Jon partnered with physicist Noah Podolefsky and—several iterations later—arrived at a battery and drive system that meets, and in many measures exceeds, the comparable torque and horsepower of a diesel engine.
Current applications of Green Machine’s drive systems include hydraulic excavators, portable trailer-mounted light towers, and stand-by power systems for computer servers and critical data storage equipment.
Green Machine leverages the talent and know-how of its parent company, OSC Manufacturing & Equipment Services, Inc., to provide a solution that is both technical and mechanical; the company partners with equipment manufacturers to physically redesign their existing diesel powered equipment, so as to operate with Green Machine’s proprietary drive systems.
Green Machine has turned the concept of the engine, which has not seen true innovation in 100 years, on its head. Its systems outperform those that are hydro-carbon-based, and does so with a sustainable, zero emission energy source. The end result is a drive system that has a longer life, is easily recharged, and dramatically diminishes maintenance costs and environmental impacts.
